Tennis Pavilion 01

• Most tennis pavilion precedents we found were precious. Taking cues from the mid-century modern rest-stops along our Texas highways, we chose to go another direction – to make this precise, but raw and elemental. The unconditioned project incorporates custom bleachers, kitchenette, changing room and bathroom, storage, and of course, a clay court. We worked with natural hand-made brick, Douglas fir, and painted steel to create a comfortable, durable, and striking place for playing and viewing.
