In 2012, Baldridge Architects was commissioned by Burton’s brother to renovate and add onto their Horseshoe Bay lakehouse. The house had served them well, but our clients wished to create an environment more appropriate for their college-aged children. Most important, however, was their wish to balance their desire for a cleaner, whiter and more modern feel with their desire to retain some of the character of the existing exterior.
After some concentrated efforts seeking to attain this goal, our clients opted, instead, to direct their efforts towards a project in Cabo San Lucas and the project was shelved. We still love some of the moments in the design, but it is hard to argue with their choice.
